Privacy Policy

BetterCreating runs this site and the wallpaper. For any privacy question, data request or deletion request, write to notion@bettercreating.com.

• Account details. Your email address and the sign-in record that lets you load your licensed wallpaper.
• Licence data. Your Lemon Squeezy licence key, its activation date and its validation status. Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy; we never see or store your card details.
• Wallpaper preferences. Layout, fill, hemisphere and language choices, kept in your browser's local storage on your own device.
• Time zone. The wallpaper reads the time zone your Mac already reports to the browser so the date is correct. This is read on your device and never stored by us. Hemisphere is your own choice in the menu, not something we detect.
• Google Calendar data. Only if you choose to connect Google Calendar — see the section below.

The Google Calendar connection is optional. The wallpaper works fully without it, and we don't touch your Google account until you press Connect Google Calendar and approve the requested permission on Google's own screen.

What we access. Two read-only scopes: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.readonly to read your calendar events — and nothing else about your calendars, their settings or sharing — and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email to confirm which Google account you connected. We request no write access and cannot create, edit or delete anything in your calendar. We call one endpoint only — the events list of your primary calendar — asking for today's events, at most 20 per request. Google returns a full event record; the only fields we read and display are the event title, its start time (or whether it is all-day), its status, so cancelled events can be skipped, and its Google Calendar link. Everything else in the response is discarded with the response.

How we use it. Only to show today's schedule on your own wallpaper, and to open the matching day in Google Calendar when you click a date. Google user data is never used for advertising, profiling, resale, credit assessment, lending, or to train or improve general-purpose AI or machine-learning models.

How we store it. Your events are fetched when the wallpaper needs them and held in memory only for the length of that request. We never write them to our database, and we don't log event contents. What we do store is the connection itself: a per-user credential, encrypted before it is written and decrypted only by our server code, so the wallpaper can keep reading your agenda without asking you to reconnect. The Google access and refresh tokens themselves are held by the Lovable connector gateway, which performs every call to Google on our behalf.

How we share it. We do not sell, rent or transfer Google user data. The only third parties involved are the providers contracted to run the service: Lovable, which provides our hosting, database and the connector gateway holding the Google tokens, and Lemon Squeezy, which handles purchases and licence keys and receives no Google data. These providers process the information to deliver the service, not for their own advertising. As with any hosted service, our infrastructure providers may record technical details such as IP addresses in routine security and server logs; we do not add IP addresses to your account record. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Human access. We do not read your calendar event data. Nobody at BetterCreating inspects it unless you explicitly ask us to look at something specific while helping you, access is needed to investigate a security incident, or the law requires disclosure.

Limited Use. Living Monthly Wallpapers' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How to revoke. Press Disconnect Google Calendar in the account menu. That closes the connection at the connector gateway and deletes our stored credential straight away, so the wallpaper can no longer read your calendar. To remove the authorisation from your Google account as well, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.

We process account and licence data to carry out our contract with you. We process Google Calendar data at your request, on the permission you give when you connect your Google account, and you can withdraw it at any time by disconnecting. Account and licence records are kept while your account or licence remains active and for up to 24 months afterwards for support; purchase and invoice records held by us or by Lemon Squeezy may be kept longer where tax and accounting law requires it. The stored calendar credential is deleted as soon as you disconnect or delete your account.

Your sign-in is kept in your browser's local storage, along with your wallpaper preferences. We run no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent for the calendar connection whenever you like. Email notion@bettercreating.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

The service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes affecting Google user data, ask for renewed consent.
